Punctuality and accurate timekeeping are essential to maintaining a smooth and safe operation at our childcare center. This policy outlines the expectations for staff attendance, procedures for reporting lateness, and the importance of adhering to scheduled hours. By following these guidelines, employees help ensure that children receive consistent care and that the center operates efficiently.

1. Lateness
Policy:
Staff are expected to arrive at their scheduled shift on time.
If a staff member arrives late without prior notification (requests for late arrival will not be accepted on short notice), 15 minutes of pay will be deducted from their wages for that day.
If a staff member arrives late more than three times within a calendar year, further disciplinary action may be taken, up to and including termination of employment. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Prior notification of late arrival is required whenever possible and should be communicated to the designated supervisor.
2. Timekeeping and Lunch Breaks
Policy:
All staff are required to accurately record their start and end times, as well as lunch breaks, using the “Lillio” timekeeping system.

Staff are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their time entries in Lillio.
Noone is allowed to sign in and out each other.
3. Notification of Sickness
Policy:
Staff who are unwell and unable to attend work must notify the centre no later than 5:00 am on the day of their scheduled shift. This is a centre requirement so that management can arrange coverage and ensure child-to-staff ratios are maintained.
If leave is approved, the staff member is excused from duty.
If leave is not approved (due to operational needs or insufficient notice), the staff member is expected to report to duty as scheduled.
Failure to follow this procedure may result in the absence being recorded as unauthorised.
To many absentees may lead to further disciplinary action, mentioned but not limited to three days off from the working days schedule.
